In early 2024 Lutra Masterton District Council (MDC) found it had some technical issues and compliance challenges that needed further investigation. They engaged Lutra to provide an audit on both water and wastewater treatment networks and operations.
First Lutra assessed the annual DWQAR review and followed this with site visits and assessments. These assessments included discussions with operations staff, reviews of documentation and strategizing solutions for identified issues. The focuses of the reviews were; plant processes and operation, potential risks and mitigation, and health and safety.
Lutra identified some minor issues which could affect compliance and then gave MDC clear guidance towards solutions to them.
Key Project Points:
§ Audit of water and wastewater treatment assets and operations.
§ Lutra identified several operational improvements which reduced the risk of non-compliance.
Performance/Success:
Lutra identified several medium-risk gaps in Operations and compliance documentation for MDC. Lutra worked with council to fill these gaps as cost effectively and expediently as possible prior to any deliverables being issues. Lutra’s initial audit reports were executed ahead of schedule and on budget.
